The Fugitive (1993)

Skilled surgeon Dr. Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford) is arrested for the murder of his wife, but is adamant that he didn't do it -- and that it was done by a one-armed man. While being transported to death row, the other prisoners stage an escape - and Kimble makes a run for it.
US Marshall Samuel Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones) takes over the case to track down his most formidable foe to date, while Kimble uses all his resources to solve the case and catch the real killer before it's too late.

So, how does the movie end??

Using a list of suspects, with one arm, from the hospital records, Kimble breaks into the apartment of the man most likely to be his wife's murderer - and finds photos of the man with Lentz, one of the pharmaceutical drug company chiefs. Knowing he has his man, he calls Gerard's office and leaves the phone off the hook so they can trace the number.

Kimble goes to one of his old friends in a laboratory, who specializes in cases of those abusing medications and has always believed he was innocent, and together they look at old tissue samples - where they soon realize that the samples have been changed and the drug is hazardous. Kimble thinks Lentz is the man behind his wife's murder - but learns that he died in a suspicious car accident himself a year ago, and samples were passed after his death. The truth dawns on him that his old friend Nicholls is the main behind the plot.

Gerard and his gang follow similar clues, but are always one step behind Kimble.

On the way to a seminar Nicholls is giving about the drug, the one-armed man has eluded police and follows Richard onto a train. A passenger recognizes Kimble and alerts a police officer (the janitor from Scrubs), who is shot by the one armed man. Kimble fights with him, knocks him out and handcuffs him to the railings before getting away.

Now the Chicago PD are after Kimble with a ""shoot to kill"" mentality after they think he killed one of their own.

Kimble gatecrashes the presentation and blames Nicholls in front of the crowd.  They go outside and start to fight. They fall through a skylight and end up on an elevator, and then head down to a lower floor.  Cosmo is knocked out cold by Nicholls. Gerard shouts to Kimble that he knows what happened and he has proof to clear his name.
Nicholls is about to shoot Gerard when Kimble smacks him with a lead pipe.

The one-armed man and Nicholls are arrested, Kimble is taken away by Gerard but his handcuffs are opened in the back of the car, and he is about to be a free man again (and very rich through all the 'no-win no-fee' compensation claims he can work through!)
